Easy Barbecue–Slow Cooker

2-4 lb.  boneless Boston Butt

Bottle of your favorite barbecue sauce (Sweet Baby Ray’s is a good choice. Publix brand is also delicious.)

Salt and pepper

Water

  • Remove the meat from the packaging and rinse. Place in slow cooker.
  • Fill the slow cooker with about an inch of water.
  • Sprinkle with salt and pepper to taste.
  • Cover, cook on high for 6-8 hours.
  • Remove meat from slow cooker and pour out the liquid.
  • Use two forks to shred meat. Remove any fatty parts.
  • Place meat back in slow cooker and add barbecue sauce to taste.
  • Cover, cook on high for 20-30 minutes.
  • Serve on buns or rolls if desired.
